  • Do I need to replace my windshield?

    Generally, if a crack or chip is smaller than a dollar bill, it is able to be repaired. However, depending on the location of the chip and its condition, it may not be repairable and replacement would be the solution.

  • What are the pros and cons of repairing my windshield?

    Repairing your chipped windshield stops cracks from spreading, restores the structural integrity of the glass, and saves you from having to replace it.  Though our technicians are often able to drastically reduce the appearance of a chip, it very rarely disappears completely.

  • Can I get a ticket for driving with a broken Windshield?

    Yes! The fine for a broken windshield in the Twin Cities can be as high as $170.

  • Will my insurance company cover work done at D’s Auto Glass?

    Yes!  Many insurance companies will sometimes “suggest” an auto glass shop that they are affiliated with, leading to the impression that the choice is not up to you, the policyholder.  However, it is against Minnesota law for any insurance representative to tell you where to go for service.

  • Will my deductible be higher at D’s than elsewhere?

    No, you’re deductible will remain the same.



  • Will D’s help me process to my insurance claim?

    Yes!  Simply have your policy number ready when you call us, and aside from a brief conference call with you and your insurance company, we’ll take care of the rest.

  • How long does it take to replace my windshield?

    It generally takes an hour to replace the windshield.  However, we recommend not driving for another hour after the service is complete to allow the adhesive time to bond sufficiently.
